Due to a change in career, Im faced with having to change car.

I quite fancy an early 3 door Freeloader, but know nothing about them really.

With the new tax rapes coming next year, I think a 99 model fits the bill quite nicely.

Any horror stories or are they reliable these days ?

Any idea of mpg ?

Im really trying to not buy another defender.......

Go for a diesel to get away from the head gasket problems of the K series petrol engines. Check that it has got a propshaft going to where they should. A common fix when the VC fails is to remove the rear propshaft. They are pretty good off road although they lack the ground clearance of a disco or defender. Google mad-freelanders to see what they are capable of.

A guy I know has lifted his and added a winch and it looks pretty good
