My best quote was from a company called Snowball, but they've changed ownership and I can't remember what they're called now - will try and dig out the details when I get home tonight!
thanks ed, feel free to dig me out the numbers of those bendy chics in your profile too. I have very reasonable rates, and could probably fit them all in this weekend.nervous said:
its definitley gone up. Im old, have 10 years no claims, no points, live in a crime free zone, and nothing has changed in the last year, yet the prices are all 500 quid more.
??I've just done a "confused" search for me (I'm "old" too!)
4.6 P38, 2000(W)
Me with Mrs Meeja as named driver
Relatively crime-free postcode
1 claim in last 5 years (theft from vehicle in Jan 05) (0 Claims for named driver)
No convictions (either driver)
Factory standard car, driveway at night, office car park in day
5 Years protected NCD
Cheapest quote returned was £371 (but with a £400 excess)
Most expensive was £1200 (!!!!)
Lots of quotes between £380 and £500 (all with sensible excess figures)
Don't understand why yours would be "£500 more" than you'd expect? Sounds like something not quite right somewhere....

My year old Discovery 3 with any driver over 25 and £250 excess and protected NCD is £476 with NFU Mutual.
The policy has all the usual bits like loan car, windscreen (£50 excess), legal, breakdown. If I have a problem I can call my local agent (who I have known for 20 years) and get it sorted straight away. Saving a few quid on premium may not prove the cheapest in the long run but I think this is a pretty good price for the cover on a £25K car.
