it was originally a V8 but had a 300TDi and autobox put in it and it looks to have been a good job, couple of little dents and knocks and a little rust but overall not bad, the engine, gearbox and chassis all look good.
being an RR classic it does have a few niggles though, the first is the ABS doesnt work, the previous owner said hes tried different ECUs, changing the sensors etc and all it does is work for a couple of days then stop again, the electric mirrors dont work-not too bothered about that, the drivers electric seat doesnt either-would be nice to fix but not the end of the world and lastly the previous owner to the guy i bought it from removed the A/C compressor, it still appears to have the other pipework for the A/C as there is the tubes with sockets to connect to the compressor, the filling bottle etc which couldnt be left over from the V8 as they wouldnt be in the same positions, so im guessing just bolt another compressor on and re gas and it will work again?, also the compressor is at the top on the 300s isnt it? as thats where the pipes line up, it will be good to have an RR classic that wont cut out at the first sign of water off road wink, its not as woefully slow as i thought either and seems to not do too badly on MPG, not bad for £650 i thought, any advice on the few niggles would be welcome though.

The conversion was probably done by a company called Stables 4x4.I dont know if they are still trading. They were doing this conversion before LandRover offered it to the market.

i might get it, i have the money to go out and buy one but i really think i would get more enjoyment out of another bike, and theres a good chance i might be moving to work abroad in the new year so it seems a bit of a bad move to buy an L322 until i know as thier not very easy to sell at the moment, a diesel classic though?, i cant see me having any problems selling one of them smile.
i know from speaking to the previous owner that the engine, gearbox and running gear came out of a soft dash classic, i will try and get a few pics up would be nice to know which bits are 300TDi and which bits are still V8 under there!!.

Hi,

I've got a factory 300 Tdi soft dash classic so should be able to identify if you've got pics. It seems to be the product of a one night stand between a Rangey and a Disco ES so parts should be available.

You can download the factory manual for a MY95 (soft dash) rangey here which will help
