Anyone else had a problem with their emergency release catches sticking on with the lower section of the tailgate accesss?

I did'nt even know there was an emergency release tab until I turned to the manual, but apparently the TAB/Lever by the catch on each side of the tailgate is for emergency access if the power fails. It seems mine are permenantly stuck open resulting in the lower tailgate just falling open when the upper section is opened.

I can manualy return them to the correct position so that the catches do in fact catch & hold the tailgate in position but then when I release the tailgate again in the normal way (with the button) the emergency tabs have returned to the permanant open position again.

Anyone got an answer? there cant be a failure as this has happened to both catches at exactly the same time, what am I doing wrong, I know its something stoopid silly but damned if I can work it out

Beat you to it biggrin

For anyone else who may have the same issue, the emergency part of the catch is sprung loaded (could'nt tell whilst it was seized) a bucket load of WD40 followed by some lube that does not dry out has cured the issue, keep moving it until it becomes free enough for the spring to return it to the correct position & voila!

Hope this helps!
