You could always just try driving it first?!?!
The D4 is 2.7t, it isn't a sports car but drives nicely as it is. If you want a fast car... Get a fast car.

There are some remap elements that aren't fully focussed on outright performance. The DMS email I got talked about not only taking the BHP up to 321BHP and the torque to 546lb/ft, but more relevant to me was getting rid of the initial power delivery lag when you put your foot down. To me, this is a dangerous feature of D4 driving, and if I can get rid, excellent. The D4 is 2.7t, it isn't a sports car but drives nicely as it is. If you want a fast car... Get a fast car.

For the record, my other car is an ISF, so I'm good for 'fast car' options.
well Ive driven it for 10 miles following the remap. The car goes up through the gears far more smoothly,Pull off from stand still under medium throttle is much improved with the flat spot/delay eradicated, the mid range power is amazing and doesn't fall off at the top end and the torque in gear pulling up inclines is massively improved.
A much much improved drive all round, they should be like this from factory.
Ill report on the MPG in due course.

Well its been done by Alive Tuning for £395+vat to allegedly give me 305bhp and 695nm.
It seems to have no flat spot from initial take off anymore which I found annoying and dangerous before as when you try to pull out it used to drop off then spurt into action. It has some mid range punch too, especially in sport mode. But I am not too impressed yet with performance but it does seem to go well overall, so I suppose the extra 50bhp and 100nm of torque isn't enough to surprise the driver. I also added a K+N air filter at the same time so far, I would say the extra 20% BHP isn't enough to make the heavy beast go a lot better.
Time will tell but as some say, is it worth it for nearly £500 all in?

My mates got a 8 speed D4 with alive map.
Have to say, unlike your experience, I find it very impressive with it’s grunt and overtaking ability.
I have a D3 with BAS map and the 500 intercooler upgrade and from a rolling start off a roundabout. He gave mine a shoeing up the hill and was pulling nearly 20mph more than I was and I had mine in sports mode etc on a fresh autobox and tc AND fresh injectors so mine was at its peak for what it could give.

I had DMS do my 2012 D4. Irish commercial TDV6 so was 200 out of the box. Now 300 and a different animal all together. Use going to France every summer. 5 pax,500 litre roof box & 4 bikes. Does’nt even feel like it’s loaded!! Economy’s the same roughly. £840. More than others but their reputation hard to fault in the industry.
