Interesting to read this thread as I ordered an HDMI lead from Babz on the 12th April. It wasn't dispatched until the 16th, and has yet to arrive... After an email a week ago chasing it and being asked to give it a few more days, I emailed them today to request a refund so I can purchase one elsewhere. If they're not prompt in dealing with the refund, I'll have no option but to put it through PayPal as an undelivered item.

I'm hoping they'll issue the refund and save any hassle. If the lead magically arrives somehow, I'll post it back to them.

Except if this thread is to go by, it'll cost you more to post it back than what you paid for them to supply it... wink

There are many tariff's but for packets ( not marketing packets and Publishing services as RM will check post content ) we have the cheapest option, we do get discount but it's pence...

Saving .15p per posted item or making an extra 50% margin ( £15-£25 ) x 200 a day, i reckon prob worth the effort putting some time into the latter...

£30 or 4k

Please keep your secrets biggrin

P.S. if BAZ are that slow it points to the fact they might well be using marketing packets and Publishing services for mail, which if caught will end their biz ( as you have to batch process in 5000 hits min )

I doubt that is the case. Royal mail wouldn't let that ammount of work coming into them go under the radar. They have a department called revenue protection at each sorting centre and they check the work of the big accounts to make sure they aren't being screwed.

Also how have you got RM staff in house?? We spend upwards of 400k a yr and don't have that. Just a lorry that turns up once a day and collects everything...

I would be incredibly surprised if RM put paid staff in your warehouse for a 100k yr account?

Thats what i thought, you *could* send marketing info and a *free* item ( the sold item i guess ) but if they caught you.... and it's not the way to run a biz. You also need to batch process/sort and send in hits, 10k-100k a day...

The RM bod is simply someone that spends 2 hours a day sorting the post for us ( UK and Global ), cheaper than paying an admin person and they get it right, 100k is what we sound on packet post only. The person is not free and we pay a decent amount for the service but the discounts on volume cover this.

Anyway we sat down with RM just before the changes , there is no other cheap service that i know of, why would they not tell us? there was a temp code running but only for April.

No one is ever 100% and maybe this code/service is running but it has nothing to do with PPI Packet-post as we know this service better than RM ;-)

This isnt cheap to post http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DOOR-GYM-IRON-MAN-EXERCI...

I noticed them on a sell off pallet site at £4500 / 1000 - maybe the pound or so they make on this is a good earner - its not my idea of an easy life though

Will do.

Sorting of these packets will give a further discount they can have anything in them btw.

Its not always wise assuming you are getting the best deal imo especially where the rm are concerned. Im surprised you are still using them to be honest - other people are cheaper still. (im not talking about sending one item at a time for clarity)

My Babz order (Prompted by this thread) was for 2 boxes of mail lite bags that were cheaper than I have found them anywhere, the order was placed on Saturday evening and came yesterday send first class recorded as above.

I did some mooching around various products at the weekend and for some products it seems that people who wholesale to the general public are undercutting themselves on ebay and amazon. It doesn't seem to make sense to me that if you can sell boxes of a product wholesale at a profit through your own site/warehouse, why would you for a smaller margin deal with small volume retail buyers that has the knock on effect of making people who sell on these already price driven sites not buy from you?
