Is anyone in this industry?
I have some ideas for some nursery management software that I would like to run past a few people before I start developing it.
I am also about to make contact to some local nurseries but thought i'd ask on PH too.
Cheers.

I have a relative that manages a large nursery. If you can let me know what your proposition is, i.e. what it is that your product will deliver that is currently not being delivered, I can run it past her for a view if that would be helpful.

PM received! Hopefully have some practitioner feedback to you before the weekend is over.
Some initial thoughts from me: existing computer skills of staff? Training needed for those not competent either with computers or your specific software? and culture ("we love our post-its"!)? I'm sure you've already considered these and many others. Good luck!

Focus group consisting of a manager of a large LA owned nursery in Scotland and a nursery nurse in a private nursery in England resulted in a less than positive response. Reasons cited were contact time with children already a challenge due to often minimal staffing and existing administrative duties, and in Scotland they have a similar but less eroneous system as you describe already in operation across all LA run nurseries. As you described it, they reflected that it would take a dedicated member of staff to run, which is unaffordable. Hope that helps. Good luck!

This is one of biggest worries and challenges I guess. For my day job, I provide software to Hospitals and our biggest issue is getting people to actually use it when they too are short staffed. Thanks once again.
