Advertising revenue from the pre rolls and those little pop ups at the bottom of the screen.

1000 views will get you somewhere between 50p and £5 depending on who you talk to.

So those people with 500k views per video, who put out 3 or more a week are laughing.
Thanks - that's very interesting. I'm amassing quite a collection of paragliding videos - I may have to give this a go.

Still trying to decide what I'm going to do yet! Got a few ideas, e-commerce/drop shipping, knowledge website for advertising revenue, adult natured website, or something completely different!

According to ThisISMoney, that's about £715.50 taking into account inflation. Not such a small figure as it initially sounds! (it's not vast sums though!)
and he didnt have ebay and a gazillion online stores to compete with...

back in the day when the general public genuinely didnt know how much things cost 'wholesale'

Completely different ball game now..

I actually had quite a good idea for your YT videos this morning btw, randomly.

You should do them like those choose your own adventure books. Take the mountain pass, go to page 165. Take the river go to page 240.

At the end of each vid you have a link for 3 other vids for the viewer to select.

It would be a pile of work but if you got folk hooked you'd have thousands of hits from folk "playing" their way through your videos.

Thats a superb idea.

Count me in on this, though undecided on my plans as yet!

Think I might have to declare myself out - I can do a one-off for around £40, and the website cost me £44, but I've had to buy a number of parts in bulk to get a decent discount, which has taken me well over the budget of £100 frown

I'm OK with the idea going forward, as I think it has legs, but for the challenge its kinda blown my candle out.

Jeez. That sounds like a hell of a lot of work. The easy bit is compiling the videos. The hardest bit is getting people (actors!) to participate. I imagine if I attempted it, it'd be a bit LARP.

Be easier to find a couch. hehe

My 'room' has unfortunately had to pull out. So now I am without venue which means no preferential payment schemes.

Schools and community centres are my first thoughts, any other suggestions?

Church halls. I hire them from about £10 an hour.

For those who are thinking of going down the ecommerce route - you might want to splice you idea in with this: http://www.shopify.com/build-a-business
