Years ago in another life we used this service to guarantee iirc 75% of the invoice for exported goods, does anything exist these days - a google search didn't help.

Is https://www.gov.uk/export-finance-and-insurance-an... what you're looking for ? They offer an insurance scheme, and loans to purchasers.

Letter of Credit? I draft these up all the time for goods I export to South America. Guarantees payment for the freight from the issuers bank.

Not really, its giving them account facilities and reducing my risk.

It's worth checking with your bank as well, as they may have a similar facility.

As I understand it you present your invoice packing list awe to the bank for checking and if it's right you get paid
