Amazon listings in Google organic search results

Does anyone know how we can get the Amazon listings for our products to appear higher in Google organic search? I don't think you're allowed to use AdWords to link to a site that you don't own and as far as I can see there are none of Amazon's paid search tools that can be used to boost the Google ranking.

The problem we have is that most of our Amazon customers come to us from Google search and we have a competitor whose similar Amazon listings are beating us somehow. Just to clarify, this is two separate Amazon listings (for similar but not identical products). When searching on Google using keywords which appear in both listings' titles, what determines which one Google offers up ahead of the other?
