Cheapest web address & web page?

How would I do this then chaps?

I want a web address and a one-page website (which will be a welcome with a "click here to enter" re-direct to another site.

I dont want to pay the earth. Ideally I want it to be free.

I dont want anything like a wordpress.mysite.com, it must be www.mysite.com

Any ideas?

www.namecheap.com is my usual port of call. Pretty cheap but also very reliable and importantly you're not locked in as you would be with anyone who offers you free or very cheap.

Hosting, we do it in house so can't recommend anything but I'm pretty sure you can find an option if you look about.

There are plenty of sites to register your domain name (i used godaddy) but they're pretty much-of-a-muchness IMO. (~£10/year?)

You'll then need a webhost for your page. As it will be a simple html page, I'd recommend: 000webhost.com - I've had an account with them for nearly 10 years now, you can host php/mysql etc which is more than you need, but could be useful in future. The key here is there is absolutely no fees, and no adverts displayed on your site (most other free hosts will do this).

pretty sure that you can achieve that with a basic 1and1.co.uk account (£1.99 a year for my .co.uk)

It'll also redirect emails to your main email address
