Teenager turned £2,000 into £21million in a year

Has there been a thread about this already? Searched but found little mention.

I don’t know anything about 'trading across currency, stock and commodities markets', but I’m finding this story very hard to believe. I’m thinking a possible Ponzi. He claims to have spent £170k on a Ferrari, but if you scroll to the bottom feedback messages, you’ll see someone claiming the car he’s sitting on in the photo is a replica. Also someone else rubbishing his claims on playing rugby.

I don't get it, a forum dedicated to fake Ferraris. I think some of them actually believe they own a real one!
I will never be able to afford a real one, but you need you head checked out if you want a fake one. Other than to blow it up for YouTube views!

Its a replica, think the whole story was a fake that was lapped up by press
This. There was a thread on it and the car is a Ford Cougar:

It's a pretty nice Fordarri to be fair.
"Despite his casual appearance today, Sam has splashed some cash. He had a holiday in Barbados, and bought luxury watches and a bright red Ferrari F430 Scuderia.
“It’s worth £170,000 – but I paid £165,000."
Shrewd.
"Sam has twin secrets. He has a trading program he has developed himself, which works on the ‘three-way bet’ system overseeing his multiple, continuing trades: if the market goes the wrong way on three successive bets, his planned trades are automatically reversed. So, if a price falls and Sam has gambled on it rising, he won’t continue to lose out."
“I have been offered £59million for that software but I’m not selling. It is worth much more than that – it is worth the money it can make.”
"For now Sam is focused on building his capital. He is awaiting approval from the Financial Conduct Authority to set up his own brokerage in Plymouth, allowing him to invest other people’s money.
He has identified a site and expects to have the operation running within three months. He plans to take on about 30 staff, the majority novices, which his brokerage will train."
Wot, after one year? Why even bother when you managed to make 1000 times your money in a year? Next year you'll be on 20 billion anyway?

Gold.
“Not anyone can do what I do, it’s complex and hard. It took a month and a half of setting up.”
"He said: “I want to stay on my own. I’ve had to deal with a bit of arrogance from financial veterans of 20 years at business meetings.
“They can be rude because I’m way younger than they are but my success speaks for itself: they’re not coming close to my kind of money.”"

Blooming hell, never mind the fact it's obviously bull - the actual story is ripped off that kid in NY who claimed he'd turned $x,xxx into $x,xxx, xxx. The 'ferrari' and the fact he must be 30 almost seems too much like a trap.
He has to be doing it for a documentary about the terrible state of the press or something.
