I'm seeing more and more people like http://www.kevingreen.co.uk/ on the market offering free/cutprice seminars on how to make cash with property. Would I be correct in thinking they are making their money from selling BMV properties and arranging financial products for guests?

I always see these as a classic "it's easier to talk about it than to actually do it". Or "Talk the talk but can't walk the walk" and so on...

If the dude can make so much money, why is he not in the top 100 richest people and why is he assisting others to gain millions too?

That in itself speaks volumes.

I read the first few lines of that article and smelt the bullst as soon as I saw the name Daniel Burton. The links below will tell you all you need to know about this individual...

Accordingly, I don't necessarily believe anything else in this article. However, i do agree with the sentiments of others in it is easier to make money talking the talk rather than walking the walk.

Just the word portfolio makes me laugh.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatc...

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/proper...

I give you these 3 links.

I went to view said property in January, when it was advertised at £55K

The agent told me that it was owned by a 'property developer' who had been living in spain, and had decided to return to the UK, and was selling some of his "portfolio" to fund his retirement.

Now My intention was to do it up over a YEAR, whilst I work at Rolls Royce Submarines, just down the road, saving myself £4K in rent. So having decided I thought it wasn't worth £55K I offered £46K which was turned down. Basically I thought it worth a bit less, but when you factor in the rent saving, realise that it would rent out at no more than £300 a month, I think £46K was fair.

The so called property tycoon, had paid a staggering £85K on 2005 for it. Seriously. It appears that it is now let, but they are advertising it at £50K.

Hence why I hear Portfolio and laugh.

I agree with you as any decent Ltd company will keep some assets (read cash) in the business. However just to play devils advocate they could of just taken £5m dividend out and you wouldn't know unless you saw the full accounts.

I once went to a financial investing conference thing. One of those free things where people try to get you to sign up to courses so you can learn to trade or invest in foreign property. Absolutely massive car park, loads of cars there. Sadly, mine was probably the quickest and most expensive parked up. Presumably all the Ferraris and Lamborghinis were in the pub car park next door.
