A few months back I asked if none FBA overseas sales were unwanted by the customer or faulty could they be returned to the FBA warehouse to come back with the rest of our FBA returns and they updated me that they are looking into it seriously as a service to sellers.

Under German law you have to pay return post even if just unwanted and its costly - how do others deal with this ?

We dealt with it by no longer selling direct on Amazon de, fr, es and it. We sell clothing, and there is no way I'm paying for a return because someone thought a dress was white/gold rather than the blue/black it really is.

I'll quite happily still sell to those countries (and do quite often) but only on Amazon UK.

I always find this a tricky aspect in business and something I feel most business sellers really fail to understand. There is this huge rush to jump to the bottom price to get the most sales yet one return or loss by royal mail can mean it will then take 10 units sold to recoup that cost.

Never mind taking into account all the other expenses in general.

Then you have the customers point of view who thinks you are making a killing no matter what price you sell at and has high demands for services, products, packaging; emails not replied same day and you are shouted it for an item that costs 1.99 to them. Go figure.

This is the problem the internet has created. People know how much they can buy for so how else do you convince the buyer to purchase for £10 over the odds?
