Just wondering if there's any problem setting up an account with me trading as a domain name.

The domain is the activity, so if it was roofbuilding it'd be "Mr 22 trading as roofbuilding.co.uk"

Clearly I wouldn't be the only roof builder, but with the domain as the trading name I don't know if I'd come up against any resistance or legal problems. Only a hobby, but be good to have a bank account in the name and save thinking up a company name.

I'd avoid the .co.uk bit as then you can get customers to write cheques out to 'Trading Name', writing 'Trading Name.co.uk' on a cheque it a bit odd.

Why not be 'Mr 22 Roof Building Services'

Ask the bank if you can have a URL in an account name. If they say no it's dead in the water.

Cheques don't need to be solely in the Account name, I can pay cheques written to three different trading names into the same Account.

I've seen limited companies with domain names as their name, so I don't think it makes the blindest bit of difference legally.
