My father-in-law had an electrical installations business which he is now too old to run, and due to pretty poor stock management he is left with hundreds of pieces of electrical stock, cable, trunking, sockets, lamps etc.

Are there any places that will take it off his hands for a fair price? The stuff is in W. London.

Do you have an inventory or is it just a room full of crap that needs loading into a van and taking away?

If he has time on his hands I'd ebay the lot or get over markets/boot fairs etc.

A small electrical contractor or builder might take it off his hands job lot depending on what it is but I doubt you'd get more than 10-20% of it's retail. "bundles" on ebay might be better if you've not the time or inclination to list individual items.

Depending on what it is, id be careful about letting it sit around too long, standards and kitemarks etc change, if something goes 'out of date' you cant sell it.

If its only trunking and backboxes, and the like, wouldnt have thought it wourld be too much of an issue theough.

You could try approaching some independent electrical wholesalers, they may take it as a job lot, but be prepared to take a hit on the value!

Most electrical contractors I deal with hate 'stock', they just buy what's required for the job and quite often dump what's left over, except for cable and expensive fittings. Trunking, tray, boxes etc just go in the skip!

Where in W London?

It's in Hayes

No inventory, just a load of stuff in a large garage. I'd eBay it for him but I live 100 miles away
