Had our shop photographed for this last month, and it's now live...

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Pool+Supplies+...

Have to say I'm really pleased with it, it's improved our appearance on Google, and means customers can 'get a feel for us' before coming to see us.

Has anyone else had their premises done?

We have been looking at this.
How easy was it, how much did it cost ?
What are the options Google give you ?
Is it actually Google staff who turn up to do it, or a sub-contractor ?
So many questions...

Was very easy... signed up, photographed a few weeks later, live a few weeks after that.

Ours was around £300, and was done by a 'Google Partner', not Google themselves.

I have advised a number of clients to have it done but have been unimpressed with Googles lack of promotion of the service. I think it's great but consumers need to be aware of what it is and how to use it.

Chimune: if you google it you'll get a list of local approved photographers and they set they price, so you can definitely haggle. You want as many panoramas as are suitable to give complete coverage of your space. When the photographer has edited the shots he'll embedd them in a link for you to put your website or share on social media. The key is to get people using it,so make it genuinely useful not a novelty

A free imaginary/online pint for anyone that can find me in the shoot

Due to an NDA I cant say to much about this but over the next few months you will see this become far more popular. Currently done by local photographers who stitch and upload the images on your behalf

At the / behind the bar by the till but only when the picture is zoomed all the way out at the start of the 360, as soon as you zoom in the figure disappears.

Also when facing the wall 'behind' the viewpoint there's a shadow of the camera, not sure if you want to get that removed?

ETA Nice looking place you've got there.

I can sort of see the point of this for something like a restaurant (as a customer it's nice to be able to look around and perhaps choose a table before phoning up and reserving it). But for shops, I'm not sure I can see the uses?
