Advice greatly appreciated, a company we have dealings with and have numerous issues with but the one I am getting concerned about is they have not published their 2014 accounts as yet (they have until 31.8.15 to do so being 9 months from their year end) my question is where do I stand in making further payments to them?

Am I within my rights to hold future payments for example until they can prove they are up to date? The company in question I am convinced is not trading correctly anyway and I am willing to bet that come next week accounts will not be published.

Not that it has much relevance but they have history of not doing things correctly but are very quick when it comes to chasing others for example, many thanks

Why is it any of your concern?

If they have supplied Good or Services, in relation to which you have no dispute, why would you not want to pay them in accordance with your agreed terms of business.

As above - not your issue...
unless their publishing accounts in a timely manner is a part of your contract then it is irrelevant and between them and companies house / HMRC / any other gov. dept.

Many companies only file at the latest possible time - I wouldn't worry about that. Even if there were causes for concern that should not stop you from paying them - you have no reason legally/ethically to delay payment.

Thanks not to worry this is all part of a wider issue as paying them forms part of a consultancy agreement I am just building a case against them really as they have not gone about things correctly.

I signed off my accounts last night and emailed them back to the accountant. They won't be filed until the weekend. I rather suspect that most companies are the same.

I also suspect that your issues with this company are in no way related to their filing of accounts
