Just curious, aside from running a race team or a performance car garage, can you guys think of Motorsport business ideas?

Training, especially the engineering imputs. Driver training, maybe even pit stop crews. Has to be some health and safety stuff in there somewhere vomit Marketing, videoing races and posting on youtube, social media marketing. Pundits, journo, technical analysis. Telematics for non manufacturer teams. Driver and crew analysis with respect to pre and post race performance. maybe some more if I think about it for a bit longer.

Now whether it's profitable.......

Nice one, cheers! Some good ideas there! Although, surely Motorsport-only marketing is a bit too niche? I like the telemetry , but there are some pretty big competitors that would be difficult to beat!

Cheers for the input smile

What's the saying?
The easiest way to make a small fortune in motorsport is start with a large one.

Buy FOM before Christmas - apparently it is for sale and makes a good return.

Formula One Management - the rights holder.

Includes BE, CVC plus a few others.

It was intended to be a facetious :-)

Bernie has to the only person to start with nothing and make a huge fortune from F1

Not 'quite' the full picture. He had made a fortune with car and bike sales and property before he got involved in motor sport.

Frank WIlliams is another. Which is partly why Bernie has supported him through the years. Cut from the same cloth, although with different personalities.

I did use the words huge fortune intentially.

I accept that both Ron and Frank at £100-200million are wealthy by most people's standards. However Bernie dwarfs them with $3.9billion. When he sold Brabham he was probably worth about the same as Ron and Frank.

Cash wise his achievement is phenomenal, his ethics, perhaps a little less so.
