We are looking to change our golf course name due to the name and our actual location. Lets say for example we are called Milton Keynes Golf Club, but we are based in Bath and named after a small village in Bath which happens to be Milton Keynes (yes it’s that bad in reality!!)

So we are looking to rename to Bath Golf Club.

Any suggestions on how best to get this new name out on the web and also to tell fellow golfers in the most cost effective way?

How do we divert the search engines when Milton Keynes Golf Club is searched for to Bath Golf Club?

Anyone done something similar and any advice would be very helpful.

Nothing similar - but you'd have to get the new domain name and then perhaps run an Adwords Google campaign to target the old keywords - directing people to the new website url and name. You can also keep hold of your old domain name and forward that to the new domain url (web address).

Current customers; do you have all of their email addresses? Build a email list using Mailchimp (or similar service) and send everyone a mail in one go; explaining the changes.

Other than online, you'd be advised to perhaps get a trademark (a lot easier and straightforward than you might imagine) - and perhaps such social media ads - targeted on Facebook for example.

Is this purely an internet issue or do you have to do a bit more regarding notifying Companies House or HMRC.

And a new sign for the front, and new stationery.
