I'm looking for a standard newish estate car to hire for around two weeks in which I'm going to clock up a tad under 3,000 miles. Most firms are likely to penalise me as excess mileage for this and as I'm doing something for a good cause, I want to keep the costs down.

Along the same lines (and without a credit card of my own), I'm also looking for either a fuel card or a helpful fuel company as well as a cheapie hotel chain. Travelodge might be able to offer a room each night at discount rate but they're not 100% sure yet.

Not wanting to break the rules on these things so my little website (see profile) has the full story.

Enterprise and Sixt offer unlimited mileage rentals.

You can hire a Zafira (massive load capacity) for around £450 for two weeks with unlimited mileage (Enterprise).

An Insignia saloon is slightly cheaper at £415.

mention the charity aspect to them and you might get a discount too.

Don't all the national chains do unlimited mileage? Probably your best bet for the car.

Air B&B for the hotels?
