Hi all,

My first try at a DIY job on my car (Renault Clio 1.2) was new pads and discs at 60k miles.

Brakes are fine and the car stops well, although I will change the brake fluid at a later date. However, there is a ring of corrosion on the inside circumference of the disc, near the hub, which is obviously where the pads don't touch the disc. Is this normal? I thought that the corrosion was usually on the outside edge?

What's more, there is slightly more corrosion on one disc the other, although there is generally less corrosion on that side of the car (passenger) anyway, not sure why.

Pictures attached. Normal wear?

The only issue I can see is the rather large score in the middle of the disc in the first pic.

Keep an eye on that & if you have the time perhaps take the caliper off & make sure there isn't a small stone or something stuck in the surface of the pad.
