My car smells perfectly nice, thank you. In-car fragrance would be as bad as those home fragrance things.

You're probably asking in the wrong place to be fair; too many manly men which may not be your largest demographic (not suggesting you run off to mumsnet).

There's this other 50% of the population who may also be interested - look at the huge market for high end home scents/fragrance as an indicator. You could consider an informal approach to Jo Malone, for example, (http://www.jomalone.co.uk/) to seek an opinion.

You can also use sites such as Amara to get a view on packaging, pricing and the sort of fragrances that appeal to your high-end target audience.

Just a thought. I use the cup holders to shove cups in. Wouldn't want them filled with an air freshener.

I do spray perfume in the air vents in the car though. Much nicer than your average magic tree or jelly bean.

OP you might want to ask the same question to the guys on www.basenotes.net as they've got to be your target market.

I like the idea of a niche fragrance for the car but not so much the diffuser. Maybe a better quality version of the California Scents tin would be better as you can leave it out of sight and adjust strength.

I would have thought that leather/woody type scents would work best in a car.

Make it cup holder shaped. It goes in cupholder while still leaving said cupholder available.
