Not all 19-20 year olds are irresponsible. At 19 I was driving the length and breadth of the country for my employer, supervising and helping to project manage small scale IT installations. On some occasions I was effectively left in charge of parts of the business.

As your main concern seems to be unreliability based on their age why don't you take on someone a bit older? What's restricting you to only employing someone aged 19-20ish?

The key reason to employ someone is that they will earn more for you than they cost.

The phrase containing both of the words Peanuts and monkeys applies.

A proper job costs a proper price, and because you will benefit from their labour, you have to accept and deal with all the bags and baggage that that comes with being an employer, and there's plenty.
