At our company my predecessor was somewhat not into the internet and our presence on it. So over the last few weeks I have been updating everything and getting on google etc. I am also about to update our website.

Some total troll I suspect a competitor (we have looked back out cust databases back to when we started and their name isn't on them) has left a spurious negative review which is our first review before I have even approached previous customers to get bonafide reviews.

Google not interested as it at face value isn't doing anything wrong.

I don't think there is much I can do until I get some positive ones?

I think you can answer the review. So leave a response stating that you have no record of their name at all, but should it be a genuine bonafide review, you'd be pleased to aid them in sorting out the problem. And then leave a customer service email or use a name as it looks more personal... make one up if need be.

And then - so that at a glance it doesn't look bad and with a low rating; drown it out with positive reviews: from genuine customers... or in any way you see fit.
