I realise plenty of people still find manually creating quotes and invoices from a template is OK, but using a proper system to do this for you is just so much better. Most modern accounting applications will do this and then allow you to convert a quote to an invoice in one click. There's so many benefits of having all this info contained within a single "system" rather than loads of individual Word DOC files or PDF's scattered on a hard drive.
Could you recommend a system.

Pretty sure you will need PDF995 or similar in that version.

I personally use Kashflow online accounting software and for my needs it handles quotes/invoices very well and obviously also runs my accounts. Any of the popular accounting applications should also offer this functionality - Xero, Freeagent, Quickbooks etc.

I send out 2 invoices amonth, and I think I just used an xls template then save it as a pdf and attach it to an email. It might have come from invoice2go, I cant remember.

If you're sending many invoices ie more than 10 a month and quotes, it might be easier to automate it. I use Intuit for accounting and general finance stuff, they have a package that includes invoicing and they've been the most balanced on cost vs features out of others I've seen in the micro account / sole trader area
