wheelchair lifts

Not sure if this is a homes gardens and DIY post or here so will try here first.

My GF is in the process of setting up a soft play area near where we live. One of the issues we face is providing wheelchair access, the entrance corridor is too short for a suitably shallow ramp so the answer is likely a platform lift.

Does anyone on here know about them and is there a reason why using a lift designed for vehicles isn't a good idea, these seem to be abundant and cheap so seem a good starting point......
