Well, that's two pretty large and profitable jobs we lost this week as a direct result of Brexit frown

They were both confirmed earlier in the year however have now been pulled as a result of overseas distributors withdrawing support for UK companies and the market changing.

We're still very strong and will just have to work a bit harder to make up the difference. I was worried before the vote for this very reason and I say to those who suggest it won't have any influence on UK business you are wrong IMO.

I hope those who voted out feel warm and snug tonight and their jobs are safe mad

There will be individual winners and losers, but the most important thing is the country as a whole.

I was surprised, but perhaps shouldn't have been, that many of the Remainders I knew voted Remain due to personal financial interest. Usually having a personal interest makes one ineligible to vote because it affects one's judgement...!

I can't really answer any of the questions asked. The simple answer is that it is still too early to tell.

Kids holidays is always crappy for us so no different to every other year.

I would imagine that is the same for lots of folk so to say ooooh we are quiet because of this... isn't a true reflection.

You haven't lost jobs "because of Brexit", you've lost jobs because someone either doesn't understand, or is making a knee-jerk reaction to, Brexit.

Vastly different IMHO.

It's far too early to tell how actual Brexit will affect the UK.

We have lost work because of Brexit. We have also gained work because of Brexit. We have other work that has carried on despite Brexit and new work that has come in despite Brexit.

Too early for the direct effect but the ripples are beginning to take shape.

Construction will have a knock in areas where banks / insurance / financial service companies put on hold / cancel projects. Schools and homes building shouldn't have an immediate knock on though?

I appreciate one swallow doesn't make a summer and I don't remember saying 'everyone'

Personally I don't like losing any work but clearly you are far richer than I am, let's hope it doesn't have a negative affect on your business.

Oh, and thanks for the ffs........great finish.

These are lost as a direct result of Brexit, knee-jerk or not.

We design and build exhibition stands

Edited to clarify, I'm asking about now, not in 2017 as has been said we don't know exactly what will happen.

I suspect that given 6 months we'll have a much better idea where we stand.

People are still dying. What can I say?

If there is a recession our volumes will remain constant but our margins will be squeezed as clients downgrade.

Perhaps we should distinguish between 'knee-jerk reactions based on referendum result flapping', and 'Britain leaving the EU' - which won't happen for at least 2.5 years.

I noticed the front of the Daily Express today saying that house prices had gone up 10% in a month - seemed odd to me - is that true?

I also wonder why a trade deal takes two years and 300 'experts' to sort out.

'Wanna buy some fish?'
'How much?'
'£500'
'You're having a giraffe matey, £250 tops'.
'Hmm, £400 then'.
'How about £300?'
'£350 cash?'
'OK deal'

I run SSAS's. I don't see Brexit causing me any undue issues. In fact, I did very well out of the last recession.

The Winter spike is still there - especially January to June 2015 when our coffin and set output (1 set = 1 coffin pack) was in excess of 3,000 per week, every week.

Seems a bit flatter this year and as you say it has been unseasonably brisk!
