As usual I have a little side project/idea I want to work on but I find that doing it at home is too distracting. Its too easy for Mrs 111R to interrupt me, too easy for me to 'just do this little thing' while I remember it. I really need somewhere to take my laptop and sit quietly, without distraction but where...? I almost need a 24 hour drop in office space/centre. I need to do this in the evenings and weekends but potentially in the day too (but less likely). Ideas/suggestions?

You can get space in a Regus by the hour - any other services like that around you? Otherwise, do you have any mates with a home office you can camp in for the odd evening?

Ah can you (Regus)? There's one half a mile away.

I used a Regus hot-desk office years ago so this might be out of date but I'm not sure you'll be able to do evenings. I seem to remember needing to be let in the door then check in at the desk.

Just search "Hot Desk" and add your location

My local library has free to use laptop desks and also free wifi if you have a card. Also open until 9pm.

Might be worth checking your library?

Buy a people carrier or cheap mini motorhome and turn it into a mobile office... you can even take the office to the beach and have a nice view whilst working.

You could just use 4G on a smart phone with tethering to your computer.

Regus would be a massive cost as you'd need to actually rent an office to get 24hr access. If doing hotdesking you need to sign in during working hours only.
There was a small office centre just off Frimley High Street which you could try. I'd also suggest a smaller serviced office group like United Offices who may do something for their communal space.
Either that or a local business that you could befriend..

You can use a 4G dongle or just use your phone and create a hotspot to connect to. 4G is fast and a dongle I had let me work in obscure places and it was inexpensive. If you're transferring massive video / audio files and the like; then you'd want normal wifi but otherwise, 4G fits the bill perfectly.

Honda, Nissan and Toyota do great 8 seater people carrier vans with swivel chairs on rails in the back; Japan import only - but I looked at one and seriously considered it as an office space. The Nissan comes with the engine from the 350z and you can get 4wd. Great vehicles and very popular in Japan. I could drive into Manchetser city centre and park up anywhere - and work away / even have a meeting... or drive to north wales; the Peak District, to completely change my environment.

Other vehicles that fit the bill are van sized / small motorhomes and race trucks. Random collection below:

I loved the idea but just didn't need another vehicle to look after. So I stuck with the boring option of working in the house.

I love the idea too but having a huge vehicle parked up in the drive is less appealing. Dongle option could still be useful.

I think I need to get away from the house/home. I already have the spare room set up as an office.

Look at storage space units like BigYellow and the like... they sometimes have spaces that they allow to be used as offices and often with wifi included.

If you live near a 4 or 5 star hotel with a nice lobby area, you could use that.

Motorway services, although some are quite gross!

The above two will keep your overheads low. You will need it hotspot for you mobile or something similar if that is required.
