Hi all,

I've had to replace a couple of the LED bulbs I've replaced the old-looking beige incandescent bulbs with (numberplate, mirror puddle lights, interior lights, side lights) because the SMDs have started flickering.

Just wondering if anyone's bought any that have stood the test of time and lasted more than 6-12 months before playing up?

I'm talking about the wedge / W5W style specifically.

Thanks!

I have these in my mk4 mondeo

They are the only ones that have lasted more than a few months, I purchased them in October last year, and still going strong. I only have them in the front sidelights as the bulbs only emit light from the top\front, so not 360 light, so not sure how good they would be as number plate lights.

A lottery, have bought some LEDs that lasted others that did not.

At the lower end, don't bother with combined side/brake bulbs, usually the "brake" element is no-where near bright enough, only as bright as a standard filament type "side" element. Back to incandescents for that job.

I bought some bulbs that looked identical to the ones in the eBay link above, didn't even fit in my sidelight bulb holders on the car. And yes, I did buy the correct bulbs.

Dad has LED bulbs in the footwell lights of his car that I fitted back in 2008. Obviously dont get much use but still going strong.

We shall see if any good - similar to above.
It's not like you need to remove the whole front end to swap them out rolleyes

These are the ones that only lasted a few months for me
