I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this on PH before (and I've admitted a lot laugh) but I'm involved with ultra-HNW investment. These things piss me off "Foreign Exchange investments carry a degree of risk and may not be suitable to all investors. This is a leveraged product which increases the level of risk and return." This is what I'd put in my highest risk category, even as a knowledgeable investor - geared and high risk, ffs. This isn't against the op at all, but they then make sure they're 'safe' by saying "Please seek independent advice if necessary." which they know you won't.

No offence taken, I did do homework on them and noticed the company start date, no way was I going to invest, at 4% not worth it, and the rick is too high, plus offering to open an account and try it for £250 and money back guarentee.

Just wondered if anyonme else had come accross them, wondered what your thoughts would be, and they are clear, stay away smile

Thanks guys.

AshW - having started my own firm I know how hard it is to begin with, and in fairness these guys could be honourable and fair, it's just a tough market. We target 4% for low risk, 7% medium risk and 11% high risk. Having said that some of the partners far exceed that, but we'd never be able to recommend nor justify it.

I prefer high risk, and I get what you are saying, its hard to start up from scratch, they probably are honourable but I wont risk it with a start up as much as I prefer risk smile

If you like high risk get a HL account and see what you can do - I'm being serious too, you might be surprised by your knowledge. PM me though if you want some free guidance.

Its a scam I have reported them to the FCA what ever you do dont part with any money
What was it that caused you to report this to the FCA? :

At first it seemed fine they did ask me for a £250 bond and said they would do 10 demo trades to prove they where proficient they did not make any outrageous claims saying they would expect a 2 to 4% profit each month. The bond they said was a sign of good faith and would be deducted from my initial investment min £4000 when I went live They directed me to there website which said they where formed in Gibraltar 20 years ago and been trading ever since I accepted that and transferred the £250. However I checked Companies House and found they where only incorporated 4th May 2016 when I asked about this he said that it was due to Brexit which didnt ring true as the vote was in June and in May everyone assumed that remaining was a forgone conclusion Anyway that put me on my guard They have allegedly now completed 10 dummy trades which show a profit overall of about 2.5%
On Monday 8th August evening he rang and said that they had proved they are competent and would send Bank details for me to send the remaining £3750 too I asked him a few questions like can the dividends be paid into another account from the one I sent the money from and he said he would put me on hold and check , well it was pretty obvious to me that all he had done was put his hand over the phone speaker because a few seconds later he said he had checked and that was fine . He then tells me that the money needs to be in the bank by Thursday 11th August however he was going on holiday for 2 weeks on friday and would be in contact again when he returned Thats when I decided this was almost certainly a scam and decided to contact the FCA
Also the WebSite I was shown is no longer accessible

My name is Julie and I have been with Hamilton-Scott holdings since 2001 when they were servicing the needs of private and high net worth individuals in Gibraltar. For me it was important a company builds a long term relationship with its clients that had total transparency which is imperative from the start of any relationship. I have been with the same broker at Hamilton Scott for a very long time. In my experience trust and communication are vital for me as a single mother. I originally started with their demo account in 2001 and over ten days received a spread sheet detailing my trades for that day, weather it was a plus or minus and my total balance. I then went onto a live account and three months later they wrote to me asking for my bank details. They returned my profit form the three months. I have since gradually increased my holdings with them and now am on 25000 pounds sterling. I have access to my money and have had profit returned to me over the years. I have decided to keep my profit in my account and let it grow as this is a nest egg for my children's future.
I am very pleased with the service I have received over the years. My broker has been in touch with me once a week and has become a good friend over the years.. I find their conservative attitude very refreshing.

That is hilarious...

I wonder why they only registered their domain name in April if they have been going so long...?

Curious that a satisfied customer would (a) find the post (b) take the trouble to register to (c) write a glowing testimonial... Rattus pongius...
