I've been running facebook ads for the last six months or so with varying degrees of success, most have been reasonable but nothing spectacular. However about a month or so ago I managed to create an ad that just nailed it. We managed to really increase traffic, had great conversions and then whilst on Holiday the ad budget ran out.

So I add budget while away but manage to balls it up and changed the target audience from what I had it set to, to people who like my page. Ok no bother I'll run a new ad.

I'm looking to run a new ad but the audience set isn't saved. Is there anyway I find this information out?

Do you mean an Ad or a boosted post?

If it's a boosted post it can only be set to people that like your page, or people that like your page and their friends.

We use Facebook ads for our online fabrics business.

Because we're selling to an enthusiast market, it suits us; we find it good value, and cheap for what we can get back.

If we spent proper money on it, we'd be swamped, which would be a nice problem.

Sorry - but that is rubbish.

We boost posts to custom audiences all the time

It was boosted, and that's incorrect. You can target custom audiences. I figured how to find the audience again and the ad is working well. smokin

I was thinking of using Facebook Ad's, Being a sole trader its difficult to decide which advertising method works.

Been using Yell.com for a couple of years with good success, but recently moved area and Yell not playing ball with moving my Ad.

Maybe Facebook is worth a try.

It all depends on what you are selling and what you are trying to deliver. It's pretty easy to deliver 10k in sales a week from FB from a standing start.

The best way to get started is to work with someone who knows what they are doing so you are not burning money especially if competition is tough. If you need guidence I can get you access to some cheap experts !

Respectfully that's quite a bold claim, any proof?

We have just launched our own site and have dipped a toe in the water in regards to Facebook marketing and it's not exactly successful, yet.

Lot's of proof and people who can confirm it. I'm not saying every campaign will be that successful but two notable ones in the last few weeks would be £40k in 10 days (very competitive niche) and £160k in 45 days (new product launch).

No matter how easy Facebook make it for "newbies" they do it in such a way people spend more than they need to with ok results.

Do you fancy sharing? or pointing me in the right direction of some reading where I can improve my knowledge. I'm very much a newbie at this but have a proven hand made product and would like some traffic to my very new website

It's not just about the ad copy but also the creative, the landing page, how easy it is to purchase etc. Like anything, it will take years to fully understand how to make it seem easy but until then you just need to keep testing. Ignore all these Facebook courses that promise the world as most of them are rubbish or contain old strategies.

If possible invest in some expert advice which will both save and hopefully make you a fortune long term.

The team is part of a company I am involved in and yes they work on all our projects. Currently, I am working with them on a Premier league club on a huge Xmas project which is pretty cool . If you want any info feel free to PM me and I'm more than happy to run over how it works.

It took us a while to get the targeting spot on. Once we did the upturn in sales on the particular item we're promoting is fantastic. We've gone from 5-10 units (of this item) a month to upwards of 100 per week since we launched the ad.

Thanks for that, I have just registered for Brum. Is it actually run by Facebook or is it a marketing company collecting data and also sharing information?

Run by FB but contracted out, I doubt the staff will be direct FB employees
