Excuse the thread resurrection but could it not be an option a cutting die made and get the material pressed out one at a time on a large hydraulic machine?

As in a 'cutting forme'.

Good idea but you wouldn't need a hydraulic machine, just use a roller die cutter, like this:

Mind you they aren't cheap either, best bet would be to get the cutting forme made, approx £150/£200 and then find a local box making company with a roller cutter and pay them to chop them out.
