Parcel still awaiting clearence

Hoping someone will be able to shed some light on this matter.

Parcel arrived into UK on the 11th Dec but it's stuck at customs since awaiting clearance.

Tried getting some answer from the carrier but no joy.

Can anything be done?

Who is the carrier? Most carriers have their own brokerage people so they sort any problems out themselves

Where is the parcel from?

Probably waiting for you to pay the import duty, VAT and associated fees before the parcel is released for delivery.

From experience, if its come into the country and ended up with Parcelforce it can take anything up to 4 weeks to clear, they then send you a letter in the post telling you how much to pay in duty, fees etc. If you pay that on line immediately you will see the package in two days.

No correspondence at all.

Can't get any update either just says awaiting clearance.

Same with me. The christmas parcel from my sister in the US has been showing as sitting in customs for nearly three weeks. It's never happened before.
