For your requirements, 1&1 (www.1and1.co.uk) are good and competitively priced.

I was with them before TSOhost and wasn't overly impressed. Then they kept emailing me for years about the account I'd closed.

I have used Fasthosts for many years.

I specialise in IT too and cannot fault the service I get from them as a reseller.

Highly recommend guru.co.uk

We have moved our servers (dedicated and reseller) and they have been fantastic, which is a refreshing change for a hosting company and 'Christ on a bike' its a fast host.

If you only host company site/static site, you can find hosting provider that range $2.00-$5.00/month. You can get reliable hosting provider. If you ask for hosting recommendation, have you check via googling? If I can recommend, you can consider asphostportal. I've been with them for few years.

I have incorporated a company and need to register a domain name and get web hosting sorted out. The website will not involve any e-commerce - it will just be for information about the company and business.

Any recommendations for reliable and cost effective web hosting companies? I was thinking about something simple like GoDaddy?

Any pointers would be appreciated
Bit late

But if you just started a company you have got more important stuff to spend time on

Register domain through TSO

Set up website through Squarespace, just smash two or three minimalist pages out, go to shutterstock and buy some decent high res images for it as that makes a big difference. You could smash something out in an evening.
