So who makes a living from property?

on a related topic I have noticed that too. I have been looking for a house myself and the trend certainly seems to be anything that is "walk in condition" to a high standard seems to go for a price (I feel) is too high for the house but as has been said if people can mortgage it they dont care.
Many people dont have a spare 20k in the bank to even update kitchens and bathrooms to a half decent level.
I have seen a house local to me up for 245k, I think it needs updating to a tune of 25k and houses on the street that have sold previously which were very nice sold for 300-310k. However I am st scared of playing on a hunch with that much money.
Seriously, my biggest quandary on this one is whether to put curtains in it, soft furnishings for me is a step too far but the buyers do really just want to unpack their things and live. Many people dont have a spare 20k in the bank to even update kitchens and bathrooms to a half decent level.

I still make good money from property, although I havent bought anything in over a year now because of the upcoming brexit nonsense. I will wait to see how 2017 pans out but ive got the itch again for a project. I have always been Btl but may have to turn to flips if the government dont stop trying to take down the PRS (wkers).
Ex council stock is my target, well built, always a good size with great gardens and usually fecked inside. The more battered the better and as long as the estate isnt a compelete dss hovel im interested. Im up north in Leeds so well away from the frenzy down south, someone pop that bubble please
As for knowledge of the PRS I would strongly recommend joining a landlord assocoation such as the RLA. I attend their meetings and I aslo sign up for their training courses to keep on top of new refulations, which can change without you knowing.
They offer a great insight into future developmwnts by the government too, lets just say 2017 will be a real piss boiler for small landlords with what they have planned. Landlords are still seen as greedy fay cats who are solely responsible for the housing crisis.
