The product is aluminium sheet is various sizes. We could have one-off high value sheets (could be one sheet per delivery) in sizes up to 5 m x 1.2m. Sheet could weigh 15kgs. This would require a bespoke carton making and very limited for stacking.
Then we have an engineered sheet product in sizes 4m x 1.5mm and would weigh 50kgs per sheet and these would be higher volumes. I see this delivery on a pallet and be able to be stacked.
It would be a UK service needed and the volumes will be 40-60 jobs per week to start.

I don't see any reason why either of those need to be laid flat on a pallet? You can reduce your pallet footprint by at least 50% by using A-frame pallets and stacking the sheets nearly upright. The dimensions are still unsuitable to use an overnight pallet hub company though. You might find someone that will take them but you'll be at the mercy of the 6 different FLT drivers for each consignment (1 at collection point, 1 at collection hub to take it off collection vehicle and put it on vehicle that's going to the hub, 1 at the hub to take it off and put it in destination stack, 1 at hub to load it on destination vehicle, 1 at delivery hub to take it off hub trunk vehicle and put it on local delivery vehicle, 1 at delivery company to take it off). That's a lot of potential for it to arrive at the customer in a different shape to how you sent it and I can tell you from my observations as a driver that it's not a good idea to send fragile or easily bent stuff through pallet networks.The product is aluminium sheet is various sizes. I would strongly suggest you factor in damages to your pricing and make sure you have it in your contract with your haulier as well as you are going to see damaged deliveries with that kind of product.
I am not in the industry, but I am interested in the answer.
To me this sounds ideal for a smaller, owner driver or pair of owner drivers to cover. Good, consistant work, maybe split north / south or east / west depending on when the OP is.

Could you buddy up with a glazing supply company - another product that comes in 'silly' sizes and has to be dropped all over the UK?
A mate started up a patio door business and they had to develop a method of shifting big frames with next to no mass (a two man lift) but avoid damage. Started with old removal lorries until they could afford bespoke transport (current t/o in the millions - just plastic frames!).
What's the product worth? Can your customers afford bespoke delivery? Where are you/where are the delivery points?

I've just been thinking about this some more. So 40-60 jobs per week, the product is flat but large, but not particularly heavy (can be handled by a single person). Why are you not buying a fleet of LWB flatbed or curtain side vans with a sleeper pod and doing your own transport? 40-60 jobs across the UK means you're going to have a fair amount in the same area, so get a custom metal A-frame made up in the centre of the load bed in all your vans and then just load them with a week's worth of deliveries and off they go. At 50kg per job that's 20 jobs per van. Plus with your own drivers and in-house training you know the product will get there in one piece and undamaged.The product is aluminium sheet is various sizes. Old Tyke seems to know what he is talking about. I needed to transport the Chassis of a vintage Rolls Royce from Sweden to the UK a few years back and these guys did the job (it was a big chassis and needed to be loaded onto a curtain sided vehicle) http://roadhaulageservices.com. it might be worth giving them a call if you are still struggling. - Good Luck
