So have I.

A little bit risky to take them so early on in the day but as I'm playing with coppers & I'm out of the office later, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

If/when I start using 'real' money of more than a quid or so per point then I'll start being more cautious but for now, risk it for a biscuit.

This all sounds very interesting, can you really make cash doing this?

Thanks

Andy

Yes you can.. But you need to keep an eye on what's going on.. 2 hours ago I was looking at a marginal profit of £16.00 on pne placement. 40 minutes later I'm looking at a loss of £77.00 for the same placement.. It's slowly recovery and turning back into a profit. The binaries seem to be the way to make (or potentially loose) the largest amounts of money. But you do need to keep your eye on the ball and accept the possibility that you could get it wrong just as quickly as get it right.

I'm another one keeping a quiet eye on this binaries thing.
For anyone who hasn't quite got the idea yet, there's a very good 'dealing handbook' on the IG website - 80-odd pages but worth a good read through. By the end of it, it all makes sense.

I just imagine it as a kind of dart-at-a-moving-board scenario - the dart signifying how close to the end of the binary period, and the speed/randomness of the board signifying how much the market moves, and how quickly.
The closer the dart is to the board, and the slower the board is moving, the more sure you can be about which square it's going to 'land' on...

Will be signing up to one of the SB websites, possibly not IG, in a couple of weeks once I cler some of my workload and can guarantee a few minutes spare in the afternoons!

Yeah it's closed. Don't see why. Normal shares are still tradable. Bit annoying as I've bought in too.

Is DJC still reading this, got some more questions for you (not re: how it works - just general spread betting stuff).

To be honest now that Northernboy and his ego had started sticking their oar in I was going to avoid the topic otherwise I could sense an argument looming and I cant be arsed. I only went back to the original thread cos someone was talking about earning money whilst watching Doctor Who because that sounded like far more fun!

Deposited £500 on Thursday. One week later, up £100. beer to DJC!

ETA: cripes, it's dropped already.

yes thought that, too. In fairness, I think he was giving us warning that we could lose the shirts off our backs if we weren't careful in a roundabout way.

Yeah, but is like getting a win on a fruit machine? Should you pull out all your cash now while you're up, or risk losing it all! Decisions, decisions.... scratchchin
