Yes, CT for small companies is rising from 19% to 22% over three years. It is currently at 20%.

I'm a contractor and have had no problem getting a mortgage, despite only having 12 months accounts. Not self cert and a decent rate as well.

All through contractormoney.

Contractor money were contacted - they came back with some shite rates - apparently they like going with lenders who pay them more - this was confirmed by another mortgage advisor when he came up with better interest rates and also with the KFI's which list which lender pays which amount to the broker. I'd never recommend them to anyone! They wanted me to go for a higher rate of interest just to earn £800 more in commission! Appaliing.

For balance, I had exactly the opposite experience. I know exactly how much the lender paid (the broker has to disclose by law AFAIK), and in my case they were able to offer very competitive rates.

Shock horror, one mortgage advisor bad mouthing another...no doubt he only punted the mortgages that he was going to profit from though?! I bet he didn't agree to lie about your income though did he? wink

Perhaps dreading is too strong a word, but after a good couple of years contracting, I have noticed the market in my area having a lot less jobs going - perhaps it is partly due to time of the year

Sorry, my fault...I meant 1% per year. Good old New Labia with another stealth tax increase.
