Anyone know where you buy and sell them and what the price relationship is vs the value of the gold?

There is a bullion and coins place right outside the Savoy. I had to go there a while back when I lost a bet which I had to settle in silver bullion. It was all very easy, you just go in and pick it up.

There's a coin dealer down Clements Lane near Monument.

Pretty simple really bullion bought & sold in cash. Priced in $ then a conversion to £ plus a smallish spread for the shop.

KRs normally trade quite close to spot. There are of course plenty of coins to buy, I like American Eagles which come on 1/2 ounce size, there are also Canadian Maples, and Chinese Pandas which seem to attract a slight premium.

It's also worth asking about collectable vintage coins, I've got some lovely old sovereigns....which apparently are starting to attract a collectability premium over there spot value.

Of course you can alwys buy PHAU ( physical gold ETF charging 0.5% annual fee ).

Mind you, nothing like have a few gold coins trousered away just incase!
