Mrs 896 handed in notice to day, giving the 4 weeks outlined in contract, however boss said the handbook states 6 weeks.

I'm under the impression the contract she signed when stating with company 4 years ago take precedence over the handbook which was updated 6 months ago after they were taken over.

She is looking for anything which states 6 weeks other than the office copy, that she signed in agreement.

Can they make amendments to contract /handbook and say that because nothing was said at the time, she agreed?
I'm thinking not, but i'm no expert.

any help appricated.

Any significant changes such as this would have to be agreed by both parties.

Did she sign anything saying that she agreed to the new employee hand book (which forms part of her contract).
