Annual business enquiry (Part 2)
Discussion
Inormally get a part 1 to complete, but this year have got a part 2 which covers financial matters.
I presume this isn't normal? Apart form anything else, my accountant doesn#'t undertake all the years accounts until late April, so I don't know turnover/staff pay etc yet
Bloody government!

Sounds like some random census. Who's it from? Do you actually need to complete it? I don't think you do, from the sounds of it.
It's from the National Statistics Office. I've got the part 1 form in teh past annually and this seems pretty common. First time I've got a part 2.edb49 said:

Agreed, never heard of anything like that. However, I have noticed recently that there are a lot of things which have the veiled target of just to gather your data in order to sell it on.
I even have had two foreign call centres call me asking me to complete a survey, when I tell them to b***er off they tell me that the reason that they want to survey me is to 'cut down' the amount of junk mail I get.
B***ocks I told him, what they really want to do is upgrade their very basic and almost worthless data about me which is in the public domain to something as detailed as possible in order to increase the value of my data for selling on...!
He put the phone down when I asked that...!

First time I've got a part 2.Evey year a number of businesses are selected for survey by the National Satistics Office so that statistics (what else) can be drawn up on key economic indicators in the UK.
Over the years, many of my clients have had to complete these forms. They are not that onerous and no big deal. I tend to fill them in for my clients as most of the data will be sitting on tax and accounts files.
Get your accountant to do it with you.
And yes, once you receive one of these forms, you are legally required to complete it.

Hi Eric,
Many thanks for your advice. I think I recall getting some very good advice from you before on this forum.
I've emailed my accountant, although the only problem I can see is that my accountant doesn't do my accounts until April (for y/e Dec 31st 07) so he can also do my personal one at teh same time and the forms want details of turnover etc before then.
