They must be nearly every other time I go to pick up the phone & for some reason, they all want to save us money on our telephone line. Im really starting to loose the plot with them at the moment, when I question them over weather its a sales call, they just slam the phone down or tell me to fkoff!!!!madcurse

Plus we receive soo much junk through our fax line, can I do anything to stop it?

I have heard of a scheme to stop these telephone sales calls at work. IIRC it's called the TPS
Do they work & can anyone recommend a specific one to use?

change your fax number to an 09 number, and only give the geographic number to people that matter to your business.

dont forget to get the current fax number changed as the marketing companies already have this one.

TPS seems to work OK:

http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

Still get the odd call from abroad, but pretty rarely.

There's a fax version: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/fps/

I work from home, but have a separate business line and fax line and TPS/FPS pretty well stopped all calls. You've nothing to lose and it doesn't cost anything so try it.

TPS works to clear up just about all telesales calls as these are generated by Sales Co from a purchased list via a data broker.

To comply with the DPA (Data Protection Act) list brokers have to de-dupe their lists periodically (every three months or so) through the TPS.

Thus in three months (max) you're off all the lists that are re-sold. The firms that bought your number in the first place usually do it for one time use, so they shouldn't be intouch again.

If not completely failsafe, it is effective.

Best,
Donny

It's the CTPS version you want, which is just the corporate version of the TPS.

It just means the number gets registered as a company number as list brokers have residential and corporate lists so you need to make sure it's the corporate one you're registered on as opt out.

Is the OP a corporation?

Ah, no! CTPS for corporate/ business lines and TPS for residential lines anyway.

I use efax (www.efax.co.uk) for about £30 a year, your faxes come out as pdf's and as it's an 0870 no. you never get spammed
