Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for printers who can handle large quantities (ie 200-500k letterheads, 500k flyers)? We've got a very good relationship with our local printer but he readily admits his kit isn't geared up to handling these volumes so can't be mega competitive.

Ideally looking for someone based around the Cambridge area but willing to look further afield to get the best pricing.

Hi

I can't think of anyone we've dealt with who are actually based in Cambridge but I can't recommend these guys highly enough:

They're based locally to us in Nottingham. Quality work every time and great prices.

Might be right up our street. We print from reels so ideal for longer runs cost-effectively.

Email or click URL link through my profile.

Edit: We're in Sussex, but deliver all over Europe.

From past experience I've found there to be a massive varience in price, it really depends what sort of work the printer is geared up to do - some will specialise in short run high quality and buy kit to suit, others will go for the volume work and gear up with B1/B2 presses to cope.

I've got a good supplier at present who's very keen on price, but I want to get a comparison against someone who's really geared up for doing this sort of work to see what (if any) the difference in price is.

Have you tried going through a broker? - I would have thought that would be the best way to compare prices.

if you do them volumes quite regular, be cheaper to buy your own machine, speak to Steve or Dave Cavanagh ( on here davecavrs4 and cavanagh) they deal in high vol print equipment, and you can get it on pay as you go !

The enquiry is for full colour both sides, so that would be quite an investment both in capital, consumables and manpower terms, for what aren't massive jobs for the right print co.
