Can Landlord Seize Stock?
Discussion
A friend has supplied a company who has not been able to pay so wants to retrieve his stock. The friend is based in Holland.
The purchaser has also not paid his rent so has been evicted from his premises.
The Landlord will not allow the purchaser onto site until the rent has been paid and will not allow my friend in to take the stuff back.
What's the legal situation? I would have thought that the receivers would distribute the wealth amongst the creditors but my friend seems to think that a carefully worded letter to the landlord will do the trick.
Anu opinions would be great. Proper free legal advice would be better.
Hopefully

Your friend may have to prove that the stock is his and does not belong to the tenant.
If he isn't able to, then the bailiffs may try to sell the items as an attempt to clear the rent.
I'd suggest that he gets a solicitor involved if the debt is significant and certainly puts something in writing to the bailiffs.
