Public Liability

We currently have public liability for £10m operating as a consultancy business. Pretty high I know but we do business with Local Authorities and their ridiculous purchasing policies mandate it. Anyway, we are some months in to a policy with the NatWest.

We have recently decided to get involved with a tour operating business and need public liability for that business activity. The NatWest don’t want to know and they suggested that we could not get a separate policy for the Tour Operator liability business and would need to cancel the entire policy and start again.

A few questions…

Is the NatWest advice true? Can a limited company only have one public liability policy covering all of its activities?

Is there a minimum level of liability required for a tour operator?

Any brokers who want to make my life easy and un-complicated, feel free to PM me... biggrin

With tour operators it's not so much the liability thats a problem. We can happily get you a policy that covers both your businesses, but you usually need some form of bonding (abta etc) depending on the way you operate your business. That can be quite pricy.

ring me on monday when I'm back in the office and I will see if we can help, or if not find you a broker that can. Jon Newall 01924 895568
