Hi,

I am looking at vehicle tracking systems for our work vehicles as our current lease runs out later this year.

There are so many systems out there, I have looked at a few, which generally do 90% of the same functions and can report in the same way. We will mainly use it for monitoring Private/Business mileage and seeing which driver is closest to a customer in case we need something picked up.

We do not really need a messaging system as our staff generally have prearranged appointments, maximum of 3 per day, just to track where vehicles are and report on the data for mileage, speeding, idling, vehicles being used outside of usual work hours etc. Also would be interested in Asset tracking for our 4 trailers.

If anyone uses a system they are happy with, or have had a poor experience with a particular product i would be interested to hear.

Thanks,
Tim.

I use Quartix, very happy with it, it was the cheapest and simplest of all the ones we looked at which was exactly what we wanted, all my vans/cars are tracked and we even pay the wages based on the info, the difference it makes to my business is huge, gone are the days when a team can claim to be stuck in traffic when they are in the pub!

I bought these
http://www.locatea.net/modules.php?name=Hard_Wired

and bought a data only vodafone contract for £4 a month.

Total cost £270 odd one off
£4 monthly,

it's not sophisticated or anything, but perfect for us.

I laughed when some companies were dishing out quotes for only £1 per car per day,
which is infact very expensive.
