I have been looking over breakdown cover options.

RAC "fleet" want £70 per car, which totals to £490

Now, taking a quick look at the RAC site, I can have myself and 4 named drivers for £160 odd, I could just hand these out to the drivers of the vehicles and be done with it surely, unless I am missing something?

I think that you get stacks loads more with Rac Select than as a personal user.

We pay about £55 a car, so £70 seems a little bit of a steep increase.

Do you have fleet insurance? Sometimes cheaper to use that.

What more do you get over fix at home/roadside or recover home?

I think we get onward travel, replacement car, accident management.

I priced it up comparing with AA consumer, and it was £60 less.

Might be worth confirming with Rac Select what they are including.

WHAT EVER YOU DO - DONT DO THAT!!!

They demand id on arrival at the scene of an incident.

How many cars and drivers do you have??

I would suggest The AA - they were by far the best for a large business...

Cheers

7 cars and 5 drivers.

What do you mean they demand ID?

I will just add them on as an additional driver to the existing private breakdown cover, their cards will have their names on.

sure, but isnt that only 4 drivers? I think there is a limit to the number of drivers on the policy.
