It was cancelled due to very poor ticket sales.
I always thought it was a bit weird, and wondered how many people actually went.
Historically, it was actually a very popular event - usually sold out, iirc.

So PistonFest is an extended weekend long Sunday service, BBQ, live band and night of heavy drinking making new friends with strangers from the internet? That actually sounds great, even the OH seemed interested...

So £50 per head gets me somewhere to pitch a tent, the opportunity to buy drinks at a bar, prepare my own food and listen to unbooked bands and yet-to-be-arranged entertainment?

Er...

I appreciate the sentiment of trying to arrange something, but it'd be great if you could actually arrange something before we all put money down for it.

Is the deposit refundable if I don't like the bands/entertainment/"freebies"?

That's what I was trying to say with less success in my previous post lol.
Just a few options of possible entertainment don't need confirmation but for example if it's just going to be a show and shine with a few themed stands I'm not interested but if there is going to be some action then I would be interested.
Is there Tarmac there? Would a 0-60 challenge or a best exhaust note be possible? Organise a mass PH treasure hunt within a 15 mile radius or something.

Will there be the possibility of day visits? And what are the tickets likely to cost? Seeing as this is just down the road from me, I don't really see the point of camping under 10 mins drive from home...

= )

Pit stop challenge
Pie eating contest
A judge judo type arrangement with Breadvan as Judy tongue out
A small auto cross would be good
Lectures/demos of simple car maintenance such as changing a wheel, oil service brake pads, wheel refurb etc
Red bull throwing contest
A crèche for the WAGs

Am I getting paid for this? No A TVR for the weekend? No. Free ticket? No. Bacon bap?

Is the deposit refundable if you don't hit the minimum numbers?

Sorry guys, I love the idea of this, but 50quid a head, for basically camping - I think it's too much. Four of us in a tent £200 for a night plus food and beer? Really?

Will we be able to show the cars we come in? Car Fest made me put the Jag in the field with everyone else 10 minutes from the camp site.

Yes, the deposit is refundable if we don't hit the numbers, but hopefully there will be mote than enough support for the event to make it a success

I live five miles away and hate camping - is there a reduced price for non-campers

( Yes organisers I've lived in the area since 1983 so I know it pretty well - there is no tarmac to speak of at the venue)

any hints on what car related entertainment might be as that would be what would make me come or not.
Nothing is confirmed yet but they will definitely be very PH.
Nathan, I've posted a few questions in the PF thread on the board forum if you can have a quick look. Cheers.

What a great idea if you did not buy tickets for FOS, Goodwood revival, car fest south or car fest north.

Awesome,

Thanks JeremyC, just been in contact with PH, as alas we can't do it as the band is booked already, but I have suggested a suitable replacement.... smile
