Sorry guys, I love the idea of this, but 50quid a head, for basically camping - I think it's too much. Four of us in a tent £200 for a night plus food and beer? Really?
Agree - £20 a head would be more like it, particularly when the SS element is usually free - I'm sure it would be a lot of fun but way too expensive IMO

Having organised events before, I would suggest that the people criticising the price and deposit up front aspect maybe should phone around to cost the rent a good location site with parking for 300+ cars and people, hiring a marquee that size, hiring a generator, hiring a bar, security, liability insurance, ticketing and of course staff to run all this... and then decide if they'd put their own money up to risk it without any idea of attendance.

Quite agree with that, but I don't recall PF at Snetterton being anywhere near that price.

Although, having said that, don't forget that PF was discontinued due to not being economically viable.

PF Snetterton was £35 in 2007

I recall trouble coming from churning up the grass...

Must admit, I did especially like the 24 hour race entertainment.

Free for you, who do you think pays the staff overtime for working on a sunday or the hire of toilets at Vauxhal SS?

Put your hand in your pocket or stop moaning FFS

Didn't recall it being that much. OK then, I suppose £50 is not wholly unreasonable. Can we guarantee that Charlie's tent is movable?

I remember being a tad drunk, sitting on a mound of grass around midnight watching 'headlights' hehe

The all night racing certainly gave it something of an atmosphere.

Luckily the Herts County Showground is right by the M1, so it'd only be a short stroll and you can sit on the hard shoulder with a can of XXXX and watch the headlights there hehe

Shame it's not the M25, at least we could count what lap they're on.

Fifty quid a head to go camping? Don't think you'll have many takers for this.

You could say the same about any festival. But it's not really just to go camping, is it.

Sure. But the festivals tend to release details of the line up before tickets go on sale, so you can decide if you like the sound of it.

Yes, festivals tend to be rather better organised than this. However, it'll be a cold day in hell when you persuade me to sleep in a tent or caravan.

You are throwing in Freebies but you have to pay £50 for a parking space and a tent pitch.

300 tickets at £50 is a fair old amount.

I've no idea but does it really cost £15k to hire a field and associated bits & pieces?

It does indeed, as we've said, we're not doing it to make money but aren't going to make a loss either.

I will be announcing some activities in the next few days but it's certainly not just going to be camping for the money.

I'm really confused.

PH: Please pay £50 for tenting and a parking space.
Punter: What else do I get
PH: oooOOOooo, we will let you know soon.
Punter: Can you let me know now?
PH: No but you can bring your own food and purchase alcohol from us.
Punter: Anything else?
PH: Yes, we chuck in some Freebies!
Punter: But we have to pay £50 for the freebies?
PH: Yes and some other activities which we aren't going to tell you about until we have your money.
Punter: OK. I'll give that a miss then.
PH: But we need 300 idiots customers. Please!
etc...

Considering a large marquee can cost £5k to hire, then I'm surprised that they can do it for as little as £15k. Especially as they'll be hiring a band, security, etc etc

It's a point that has been raised with Nathan already.

We've thrown a few ideas at him and he has promised he is working on some additional bits that will be finalised this week.

The issue is that until PH can get a good idea of numbers, everything is worst case budget. If the numbers jump up to 600 people, then I'm sure the price will reduce.
